3 year extension to the Sweden Uganda energy MOU

A Swedish trade delegation focusing on energy visited Uganda on 16-19 May, with the three-year extension of the MoU between Sweden and Uganda on energy being the highlight of the visit. The close cooperation with UETCL and UEGCL was reconfirmed, and new commercial opportunities were explored. The delegation also engaged with the Permanent Secretary of Ministry for Finance, Planning and Economic Development as well as Kampala Capital City Authority. A visit was also made to the hydropower dams Isimba and Bujagali in the Jinja area. The delegation consisted of representatives from Business Sweden, Swedfund, SWECO, Hitachi Energy and QGMI.
