The PSFU Women’s Day Katale 2024, held at Dam Waters Rugby Grounds in Jinja, spotlighted the incredible contributions of Ugandan women entrepreneurs and creatives. Vice Chairperson of PSFU, Sarah Kagingo, emphasized the event’s role in empowering women with essential skills and opportunities to bridge economic disparities. Since its inception in 2020, the Katale has created over 125,000 direct job opportunities, with 64% for women. The event featured business development sessions, networking platforms, and showcased projects like the GROW initiative, aiming to support and scale women-led enterprises. The forum also fostered collaboration with key government agencies, enhancing business opportunities for women in Uganda. Jinja City, selected for its potential in youth employment and business, hosted the event, underscoring the importance of women’s leadership in economic and cultural spheres.
