Kampala, June 20, 2024 – The European Union (EU), continuing its efforts to foster business collaboration, hosted another successful networking event at the Onomo Hotel. This event brought together 130 participants, emphasizing the growing interest and commitment to strengthening economic relationships between European and Ugandan businesses.
The event commenced with welcome remarks from Sarah Kitakule, the Director of the Sustainable Business for Uganda Platform (SB4U). Kitakule highlighted the significance of such gatherings in promoting sustainable business practices and fostering mutual growth. She then introduced H.E. Jan Sadek, the European Union Ambassador to Uganda, who addressed the participants with an inspiring speech.
Ambassador Sadek emphasized the EU’s ongoing support for Uganda’s economic development and the importance of collaborative efforts in achieving sustainable growth. His remarks set a positive tone for the day’s discussions and interactions.
A key highlight of the event was a compelling panel discussion featuring representatives from European private sector associations namely NUTIP, CAK and Nordic Association. The panelists shared insights on various topics, including investment opportunities, challenges, and the future of EU-Uganda business relations. Following the panel discussion, the event transitioned into an evening of networking and socializing.
