EU holds a networking event in preparation for the 2nd Uganda- European Union Business Forum

Ahead of the 2nd Uganda- European Union in Uganda Business Forum in Kampala (October 2022), the European Union (EU) through Sustainable Business for Uganda Platform, a forum bringing European and Ugandan businesses together hosted networking event to present Uganda as an investment and export destination of choice.

The event provided an opportunity for the companies to be updated on the activities of SB4U and to meet and interact with key government agencies, the European Union Delegation officials, EU ambassadors and members of the SB4U Board.

About 120 guests graced the event including participants representing high-level organisation leadership from the EU Delegation in Uganda; EU Member-State Ambassadors; trade advisors/commercial attaches  of the various embassies  and consulates; representatives of member-state Business Associations/Chambers; multinational companies of European origin operating in Uganda; companies (MSMEs) owned by Europeans operating in Uganda; subsidiaries, agents, and representatives of EU companies; Ugandan companies with European equity; trade promotion agencies operating in Uganda; representatives from European-based development partners; representatives from European-based private funds; and Uganda companies with significant business relationships with the European Union.

The outcomes of the networking among others included an introduction of the new EU Ambassador to Uganda as well as briefing on the upcoming Business forum. This was just the first of many more EU networking events to come.
